Kakuno Retention System

Introducing the Kakuno Retention System - A solution for pen plotter artists looking for a precise solution to multi-colored drawings.

Developed in house for the production of my series of 50 BUSY drawings, this system allowed me to create drawings with up to 11 different inks, all with sub-millimeter precision. It was battle tested over a 2 year period as I developed the highly complex artwork.

This system includes a video link to explain the calibration technique. It empowers pen plotter artists to finely tune registration on fountain pens and seamlessly make multi-colored drawings.

Includes:

1x Pen holder

3x Pen adapters

Benefits:

• Perfect registration! Align many different pens to the same position and do multi-colored pen plots
• Remove, refill, and replace pens without changing their position during long plots
• No longer worry about setting pen up/down values - Do it once.

Requirements

• Bantam Tools Nextdraw or Axidraw pen plotter (all generations and sizes)
• Pilot Kakuno Fountain pen(s) (all nib sizes)
• Installation & calibration required, comes with directions

Designed and assembled in my art studio in Vermont.
